Rifle

Rifle

Sixteen rifle shooters compete in a head-to-head bracketed format for a total of 15 matches. In each bracket both shooters simultaneously shoot at their own bank of 10 horizontal targets. Once the shooter has hit all 10 of their banked targets, they move on to a target known as a dueling plate. The dueling plate has four targets in a vertical line, with the targets becoming increasingly smaller towards the top of the plate. As the dueling plate targets are hit, they pivot to the left side of the plate where they are then open for the shooter's competitor to hit them back to the right side of the plate, thereby deducting the points for that plate from their competitor's score. The competitors will shoot at their own targets and their competitor's targets until one competitor has all four of their dueling plate targets in the scored position or until a total of sixty seconds has passed for each bracket. The shooter with the most points in each bracket wins the bracket.
