MADISON, Wis. — The final event for the timber sports was the Team Relay, in which eight separate teams are put together of competitors from all fields of the timber events.

Team Zalewski, captained by Nancy Zalewski of Plymouth, Wis., took the gold medal with a final time of 1:25.575 over team Lavoie captained by Erin Lavoie of Spokane, Wash., which took the silver medal with a time of 1:39.828.

" I knew some of the contenders, but I had to listen to my other teammates on who to pick next," Zalewski said.

"I'm glad I listened because they made the team and they worked together to win the gold."

The bronze medal was awarded to Team Engasser, captained by Peg Engasser of Cortland, N.Y., whose team went 1:44.481 to top Team Boulanger's 1:47.700.
