From: VIOLA, ID
Occupation: PHYSICAL THERAPIST
Events: ENDURANCE, TEAM RELAY
Participating Since: 1996
Competing Since: 1996

Notable
Boyko grew up on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Her father was a logger who also competed in timber events. She began log rolling at a very young age. "We would travel around to the shows that my Dad was competing in and they would always have log rolling events for the kids to compete in. So I did that for a lot of years. As I got older I wanted to learn to chop. My Dad was very hesitant and wouldn't teach me. I had to cry a little to get him to relent. I was 28!

Quotable
"Sheree Taylor has been my idol for years. When she first started coming to North America she competed in Canada a lot. In 1995, we were in the Ladies Axe Throw World Championship and I beat her. Of course, she had beaten me the year before." Boyko meets Taylor in the first round of the head to head, single elimination competition.
