Darin is a Farrier and has been working with two horses that may be competing in Athens this summer. He works 7 days a week and does not have a lot of time to train. He trains on bales at home. He doesn't like to practice speed, and he feels it's more important to practice his loading and setting his arrows - he practices in his basement. Because his job requires that he focus 100% on his clients when he's at work, he does the same during competition and feels his career has trained him to focus.

Darin says he is up against the best competitors, but he feels, "No matter who they are, I can beat them and they can beat me. There's no one I really have any reason to be afraid of." About his efforts last year he said, "I let myself down last year, and I won't do it again." He attributes this to his equipment and says this year, he'll be ready.
