Ginger came out of retirement to compete in 2003 when she qualified for GOG in Reno. She says that as a result, she trained more last year to get back to competitive form leading up to the event than she has this year going into GOG V. She doesn't feel as driven to prepare this year now that she has some experience in the event. She also says that her career has taken off- she coaches archery, teaches people how to teach children, and runs her own business - Family Funshoot, which is a travelling archery event.

Ginger says she has a "Pit Bull" mentality and she feels - "If I can make myself stay focused, then watch out. " She also says about the event - "Speed doesn't allow me to be distracted." She says some of her competitors, "...are so intent on going fast that they lose sight."When she is competing and focusing she thinks - "How many little red plates can I break before someone say it's time to quit."
